Hi, I'm Aaron Cofer.
I live in Athens, Texas, and I fix, build, and remodel homes for people across East Texas. HandyCofer is just my name on my work — which is exactly why I'm careful about how it turns out.
Why I Started HandyCofer
I spent years on job sites watching homeowners get worn down by the same thing over and over: nobody would answer the phone, quotes came in vague, and finishing a simple bathroom meant chasing four different subs who each blamed the last one. Good people were paying real money and still feeling like they were being handled.
I figured there was a better version of that. If one person can hang and finish drywall, run tile, set a vanity, swap fixtures, paint, and trim it all out, then a homeowner only ever has to talk to one person. That's the business — a craftsman who picks up the phone, shows up when he said he would, and stays until the work is actually done.
So I started HandyCofer here in Athens. Most of my work comes from people who saw a fence I built or a kitchen I finished for someone they know. That word-of-mouth is the only marketing that ever really mattered in a small town, and it's the reason I don't cut corners on anything, even the parts you'd never see.
Whether it's a half-day punch list in Malakoff or a full kitchen in Tyler, you get the same thing: an honest quote, a clear timeline, a clean job site, and someone who'll come back if something isn't right.

The work behind the drywall matters as much as the paint on top of it. Aaron builds things the way he'd want them built in his own house — level, sealed, fastened right, and finished clean.
Honesty
Straight quotes, real timelines, and a phone call the moment something changes. If a project isn't worth doing, or a cheaper fix will hold, Aaron will tell you that instead of selling you more.
Community
These are neighbors, not tickets. Aaron works in the towns where his family shops, eats, and goes to church — so his reputation walks in the door before he does.
