Terms of Service

HandyCofer provides residential home maintenance, repair, and renovation services, including drywall, painting, water heater replacement, window and door installation, tile, siding, fixture work, flooring, bathroom and kitchen remodels, fences, porches, and general handyman work. Work that legally requires a licensed trade is performed or supervised by an appropriately licensed professional.

Estimates are free and carry no obligation. An estimate is valid for 30 days and is based on the conditions visible at the time of the visit. If hidden conditions turn up once work begins — rot, water damage, failed wiring, out-of-level framing — Aaron will stop, explain what he found, and get your written approval before any additional work or cost.

Appointment times are windows, not guarantees. Weather, material delays, and previous jobs can shift a schedule. You'll be contacted as soon as anything moves.

Payment terms are set out in your written estimate. Typically, small jobs are paid in full at completion, and larger projects use a deposit toward materials with the balance due at completion or at agreed milestones. Accepted payment methods and any deposit amount are listed on your estimate. Invoices are due on receipt unless stated otherwise.

Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment so the slot can go to another homeowner. Materials already purchased and custom-ordered items for a cancelled project are non-refundable. If HandyCofer must cancel, any deposit for unperformed work is refunded.

You agree to provide safe access to the work area, functioning power and water where needed, and to move or protect valuables and fragile items ahead of time. Pets should be secured while work is in progress. HandyCofer protects floors and surfaces and cleans up at the end of each work day.

Workmanship is warranted for one year from completion. If something Aaron installed or repaired fails because of how it was installed, he will return and correct it at no charge. Materials, appliances, and fixtures carry only the manufacturer's warranty, which is passed through to you.

The warranty does not cover normal wear, settling and seasonal movement, damage from weather or accident, work altered by others, pre-existing conditions, or failures caused by materials you supplied. Except for this warranty, services are provided without other warranties, express or implied.

To the fullest extent allowed by Texas law, HandyCofer's total liability for any claim related to a project is limited to the amount you paid for that project. HandyCofer is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost use of a room or property. HandyCofer carries liability insurance; a certificate is available on request.

Work is performed in Athens, Texas and communities within roughly 100 miles, including Tyler, Palestine, Corsicana, Canton, Terrell, Gun Barrel City, Mabank, Malakoff, Trinidad, Jacksonville, Rusk, Henderson, Fairfield, Crockett, and the Huntsville area. Projects outside that radius may include a travel charge quoted in advance.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, with venue in Henderson County. HandyCofer may update these terms; the effective date at the top will change when that happens, and the terms in force when your estimate was accepted continue to apply to that project.
